Description
CAV Outdoor CMTS & GPON Uplink (with Fiber Node Optical Receiver)Are you facing the problem how to provide fast internet for the customers in MDU or segregated cable plant where fiber count is limited due to economic, technical or political reasons
?
Let's talk about our solution:
enables access over 800 Mbps,
utilize already installed coaxial cables with using optional GPON technology as uplink with a single fiber for DATA [1310/1490nm] and CATV [1550nm]
lowering the cost of delivering broadband is possible (you can use a single fiber originating from your headend and keep ratio splitting [fiber tap] while you share the combined 2.5 Gig GPON data on multiple units which will save you on your fiber built costs).
ANSWER: Outdoor CMTS, DOCSIS 3.0 with GPON (1310/1490) Uplink & Fiber Node (1550) for TV.
If you need a design for your network, contact us and we will design from headend to the cmts fiber node/s.
Outdoor CMTS is targeting small or middle sized CATV networks, larger common antenna systems as well as hospitality market. Recommended amount of Docsis 3.0 cable modems per Outdoor CMTS is about 200 - 250 customers.
- Low power consumption (36W without fiber node, or 95W with fiber node).
- Outdoor housing, absence of any moving parts especially ventilators thus expected long life time.
- Low price.
- For configuration Outdoor CMTS has its own Web GUI build-in, which can be used locally or remotely.
- For central monitoring SNMP support, which allows to monitor CMTS remotely.
- Outdoor CMTS acts like a L2 switch. Optional DHCP and TFTP servers are build-in which can be utilized if there are no external servers.
- It can be installed both Outdoors powered via 40-90VAC cable plant or indoors via 110VAC (optional).
- Data can be fed through GPON or 100/1000M RJ45/SFP with Ethernet.
For QAM64 modulation, the maximum speed in the downstream is about 560 Mbps. For QAM256 it is 800Mbps. From a monitoring point of view, the Outdoor CMTS has internal WebGUI, which allows local or remote setup, which allows remote monitoring and setting of the HFC as well as IP settings. The Outdoor CMTS can in theory support 500 modems, but the chip-set (Broadcom) manufacturer recommendation is to calculate with a practical limit of 200 to 250 modems per unit.
